The group represents Frontier Airlines, Allegiant Air, Sun Country and Avelo. It also represented Spirit prior to that airline halting operations. The AVA has warned that fewer low-cost carriers will make air travel less affordable for many Americans. The group said that Spirit Airlines’ collapse is a “clear warning sign” about regulatory and policy pressures favoring large airlines and that it highlights the need for a “balanced, competitive environment” to keep value airlines viable.
