New School At Millington-Memphis Airport Tennessee Flight Training is opening a new pilot training center at Millington-Memphis airport, 16 miles north of Memphis. The new school is designed to better serve West Tennessee by the Nashville-based flight school. The new location brings professional pilot training and career-focused aviation education to pilots in West Tennessee. Millington-Memphis Airport was formerly Naval Air Station Memphis. It is now officially Naval Support Activity Mid-South with more than 7,500 military, civilian, and contract personnel assigned to the base.
