Cruz Says Pentagon’s Statement On Budget And Security Contained “Significant Misinformation” And “Multiple Factual Inaccuracies” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is continuing his fight for the Rotorcraft Operations Transparency and Oversight Reform (ROTOR) Act, and is now running up against both the Pentagon and a competing House bill called the Airspace Location and Enhanced Risk Transparency (ALERT) Act (H.R. 7613) from U.S. Rep Sam Graves (R-Mo.) who chairs the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The Rotor Act passed the Senate unanimously but failed to pass the House of Representatives after falling short of the required two-thirds majority vote. Cruz told the Houston Chronicle he was “blindsided” by opposition from the Pentagon, along with a small but powerful segment of the aviation industry represented by Graves.
