FAA: Antoine Forest And MacKenzie Gunther Were “A The Start Of Their Careers” Two young Canadian pilots have been identified as those who died in Sunday’s La Guardia collision between an Air Canada flight that was landing and a fire truck that was crossing the runway just before midnight. Capt. Antoine Forest and First Officer Mackenzie Gunther were the pilots at the controls when the accident occurred, officials announced on Tuesday. There were 72 passengers and a crew of four on board, arriving from Montreal. Air Canada says 39 of the passengers and crew members were injured; six remain hospitalized. “These were two young men at the start of their careers,” FAA Administrator Brian Bedford told reporters Monday. “It’s an absolute tragedy that we’re sitting here with their loss.”
