Bills Approved Include One To Allow Supersonic Flights Over U.S. The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has thanked the U.S. House of Representatives for passing four bills that it says will strengthen America’s leadership in aviation, including one that would allow the return of supersonic flights; it urged the Senate to follow with approval. The supersonic bill (H.R.3410) would require the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue new rules allowing civil supersonic flight in the United States as long as the aircraft is operated to ensure that no sonic boom reaches the ground. The nation has not allowed supersonic flights since 1973.
