Recent Convention In Washington, D.C. Urged Funding For Airport Improvement Program The National Association of State Aviation Officials’ (NASAO) three-day conference brought together state aviation leaders and federal officials to address critical policy and infrastructure needs. Discussion at the conference centered on funding the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) at $4 billion annually. NASAO specifically urged that 50% of AIP supplemental discretionary grants be directed to nonprimary, non-hub, and small-hub airports. The conference featured updates from high-level officials, including Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and FAA Deputy Administrator Chris Rocheleau. Also discussed was full funding for the chemical PFAS Reimbursement Grant Program to help airports replace firefighting foam and equipment.
