After 2020 Fire, Bulletin Calls For Detailed Inspection Of Diode Cooler Assembly And Installation Piper Aircraft has issued a service bulletin calling for visual inspection of the diode cooler assembly, including wiring and insulators, for condition or damage such as cracks, wear, deterioration, evidence of overheating, electrical shorts, ferrous or other residue, and improper installation, including insufficient or excessive insulator screw torque. Piper considers compliance mandatory as a result of a July 23, 2020, incident in which a 1981 PA-28RT-201T Arrow IV experienced an in-flight fire near Basel-Mulhouse Airport, France.
