B-17 Alliance Foundation Working To Restore Bomber That Sat Atop Gas Station Volunteers are working to restore a World War II B-17 bomber that spent nearly seven decades as a roadside landmark in Milwaukee, Ore. The restoration is taking place in a Salem aircraft hangar, where the B-17 Alliance is working on the Lacey Lady. The bomber was a fixture on McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukee for 67 years.
