Air-Traffic-Control Trainee Failure Rate One Aspect Of Review The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Inspector General has launched an audit of the FAA Controller Training Academy in Oklahoma City to reviews delays in training enough air traffic controllers.The DOT memorandum says the academy is facing considerable challenges with training, including a shortage of qualified instructors, training-capacity limitations, an outdated curriculum, and high training failure rates.
