Officers’ Helicopter Was In Pursuit Of Shooting Suspect Two Arizona Department of Public Safety officers were killed when their helicopter crashed near Flagstaff, Ariz. while assisting local officers in pursuit of a shooting suspect. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said its Ranger Helicopter crew was called to help Flagstaff police and other law enforcement with the active shooter incident, and acted as air support. “The Ranger Helicopter crew responded to assist the Flagstaff Police Department and other law enforcement agencies with an active shooter incident in the Flagstaff area, providing tactical air support. Tragically, during the incident, the helicopter crashed, killing both the pilot and the trooper/paramedic on board. Their identities will not be released at this time,”
