Cecilia Stratford, 83, Wins Award For 50 Years Of Safe Flying A Thousand Oaks, Calif., pilot who took her first flight more than 50 years ago has received one of aviation’s highest honors for a lifetime of safe flying and mentoring the next generation of pilots. On March 21 at University Village, Cecelia “Ceci” Stratford, 83, was awarded the FAA’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for her 50 years of safe flying and her efforts to introduce hundreds of students to aviation. A former student, Air National Guard Capt. Genevieve Anonsen, presented the award.
