First Hiring Window Opened On Thursday For New Applicants The FAA reportedly received more than 8,000 applications, and roughly 7,250 of those met basic qualifications, though they would still need to go through a rigorous assessment process, according to U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. The hiring window had opened on midnight, April 17. As of Saturday, the job posting had been removed. Duffy said on X , “Mission accomplished.” He said that it was the “fastest application pace in American history for air traffic controllers” in the FAA’s 67 years of recruiting.
