German Carrier Recreates Inaugural Routes to Zurich, Cologne to Mark 100 Years of Flying Lufthansa has officially turned 100, and it’s celebrating by flying the same routes that started it all. The German flag carrier replicated its original 1926 services from Berlin to Zurich and Cologne on April 6, this time using a Boeing 787-9 and an Airbus A350-900 instead of the classic Fokker F II and Dornier Komet.
