More Than 300 Cadets Applied; Scholarships Worth $32,500 Toward Private Pilot Certificate Seven Bedford High School students have received scholarships to attend accredited aviation universities participating in a private-pilot certificate training program in the summer of 2026. Veda Keny, Sophiya Kovalenko, Madison Mucheck, Aryanna Schauer, Rohinpreet Singh, Arianne Sweetland, and Vikram Voleti, Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) cadets, all who attend Bedford High School in Bedford, Mass., are among 94 cadets from around the world to receive the scholarship. More than 300 cadets applied for the scholarships, valued at approximately $32,500, that covers transportation, room and board, academics, and flight hours required to earn a private pilot certificate. In the past four years, nine other Bedford High School students were awarded the Flight Academy Scholarship and received their private pilot’s licenses.
