Largest-Ever Order Placed For Latest Generation Of Fuel-Efficient Cargo Jets Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings has placed a landmark firm order for 20 Airbus A350F freighters, the largest ever placed for the latest generation fuel-efficient A350F. The order makes Atlas the biggest customer of the type. The company also has options for an additional 20 aircraft, to support growing demand for its transport services. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2029 and be completed in 2034. By decade’s end, Atlas Air – the world’s largest operator of 747 jumbo jets – will operate non-Boeing aircraft for the first time after signing the order for the new Airbus wide-body planes. The decision is a major coup for Airbus, which has rarely offered a production freighter in a market dominated by Boeing for decades.
