National Tours Bring Historic World War II Military Aircraft To Communities Across U.S. Several aircraft operated by units of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) have begun announcing their 2026 national tour schedules.These traveling exhibitions allow the public to experience aviation history firsthand through static displays, living history programs, and in some cases the rare opportunity to fly aboard vintage World War II aircraft.These tours give visitors the chance to see historic aircraft up close while learning about the pilots, crews, and missions that shaped aviation and military history. Tour stops range from small fly-in events with aircraft on static display to large airshows attended by thousands of spectators. At many locations, visitors can also purchase rides in select aircraft, offering a chance to experience the sights, sounds, and even the distinctive smell of historic radial engines in flight.
