DOT And FAA Pilot Program For Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircraft The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have announced that Virginia-based Electra.aero, Inc. is the premier private company participant in the inaugural Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing and Advanced Air Mobility Integration Pilot Program alongside state partners. Electra will demonstrate real-world operations of the world’s first hybrid-electric Ultra Short airplane.
