Awarded To Canadian Women Studying To Become Commercial Pilots Or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers The eight recipients of the seventh edition of the Air Canada and CAE Captain Judy Cameron Scholarship have been announced for the award honoring Air Canada’s first female pilot (hired in 1978) and the first woman captain of the Boeing 767. During her 40-year flying career, Cameron logged over 23,000 hours in the DC-3, Twin Otter, Hawker Siddeley 748, DC-9, Lockheed 1011, Airbus 320, Boeing 767 and 777. Every year, up to eight Canadian women studying to become commercial pilots or aircraft maintenance engineers are awarded scholarships to pursue their training. Of these recipients, four aspiring commercial pilots will join the CAE Women in Flight program as ambassadors.
