John Alden Clark & Marie Mountain Clark Scholarship At Michigan-Based College Applications are open for the John Alden Clark and Marie Mountain Clark Scholarship, created to support graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education in STEM, aviation, or aeronautics at a Michigan-based college. The application deadline is May 1, 2026. Dr. John Clark was a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, and is an accomplished World War II veteran, having flown with the 8th Air Force as a B-17 copilot. Marie Mountain Clark was an accomplished musician and dedicated World War II pilot. Marie was a member of the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots (WASP), the first women to serve as pilots in the United States’ Air Force.
