Updating 600+ Aging Units Is Major Step In Modernization Project The FAA has awarded contracts to replace the aging air traffic control radar systems to two companies: RTX, formerly known as Raytheon, based in Arlington, Virginia, and Overland Park, Kansas-based Indra Group USA. The companies have been awarded a total of about $780 million to manufacture next-generation air traffic surveillance radars to replace the outdated systems.
