Flight Schools and Citizen Noise Complaints The City of Mesa, Ariz. is proposing a number of new fees for Falcon Field Airport, including landing fees, hangar rent, tie-down fees and more. More than 1,700 people have signed a petition calling for a stop to the “excessive aircraft noise” and lead exposure from fuel. They support the landing-fee proposal and also want the city to implement student-training fees on the 15 flight schools currently operating at Falcon Field. The Arizona Pilots Association says pilots are outraged over the proposed fees, which would be accrued each time an aircraft touches down.
