Event Allows Electric Aviation Developers to Showcase Their Tech Ahead of AirVenture The Vertical Flight Society (VFS) walks into its annual Electric Aircraft Symposium in Oshkosh with a clear goal: bring the people driving the future of electrification in aviation into the same room, compare notes, and walk out ready to continue their climb to the top. And, with the considerable progress the industry has made over the past year, the 2025 event was surely one to remember. VFS has roots going back to 1943, during the days when Sikorsky was proving the first practical helicopter. It has since evolved into an international community focused on the toughest engineering challenges in rotorcraft and advanced air mobility. Since 2008, all of this work has had the opportunity to be placed in the limelight through the Electric Aircraft Symposium.
